Product Introduction

This product, Recombinant Firefly Luciferase, is a luciferase derived from the North American firefly ( Photinus pyralis ) expressed by Escherichia coli , with a molecular weight of about 62 kDa. This enzyme requires ATP, molecular oxygen and the heterocyclic compound luciferin to produce light through a two-step reaction. Luciferase is widely used in molecular and cell biology, mainly for the detection of quantitative ATP using bioluminescent reagents or as an essential raw material for luciferase research and kit production using luciferin as a substrate.

Definition of enzyme activity: The amount of enzyme required to produce one relative light unit (RLU) within 10 s at 20-25°C is defined as one unit of enzyme activity.

Purity and concentration: Purity detected by SDS-PAGE 95%, 1 mg/mL.

Enzyme Storage Buffer: 20 mM Tris-HCl, 1 mM DTT, 50% glycerol, pH 8.0.

Storage and transportation
