Introduction
Sodium deoxycholic acid is the sodium salt of deoxycholic acid. It is a white crystalline powder at room temperature, similar to bile odor, and has a strong bitter taste. Sodium deoxycholate is an ionic stain remover that can be used to lyse cells and dissolve proteins that are insoluble in water. The principle is that bile or bile salts have surface activity, which can quickly activate autolysin and accelerate the self-dissolution of bacteria such as Streptococcus pneumoniae.
