Product Description/Introduction

Recombinant Catalase (CAT), derived from the catalase gene in bovine liver and expressed by Escherichia coli, can catalyze the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide and is an antioxidant enzyme. The performance of the recombinant catalase was the same as that of the natural extraction, and the purity was higher. It is mainly used for antioxidants (to study the effect of reactive oxygen species on gene expression and apoptosis), removal of residual hydrogen peroxide in food and other products, enzyme detection, etc. This product is in brown freeze-dried powder form.

Source: Derived from bovine liver and expressed by Escherichia coli.

Enzyme activity definition: At 25°C and pH7.0, the amount of enzyme required to decompose 1 μm H2O2 per minute is defined as one unit of enzyme activity.

Purity and concentration: SDS-PAGE95%; Enzyme activity > 4 kU/mg.

Assay Protocol / Procedures

The freeze-dried powder is recommended to be dissolved (or dissolved in deionized water) with 50 mM potassium phosphate buffer (pH7.5) to the desired concentration; (Hydrogen peroxide solution is not recommended to be frozen, freezing will cause most of the enzyme activity loss, it is recommended to store 2-8)
