Tetracyclines are antibiotics which inhibit the bacterial growth by stopping protein synthesis. They have been widely used for the past forty years as therapeutic agent in human and veterinary medicine but also as growth promoter in animal husbandry. But the abuse of antibiotics will lead to the residues in the livestock and indirectly affect the health of human being.

This detection method is sensitive, fast, simple, and specific, only need 45mins for operating and a small amount of sampling.

Use Principles

The Tetracyclines ELISA kit is an indirect competitive enzyme-labeled immunoassay. The antigen is precoated on the wells. The precoated antigen compete the antibody (antibody solution) with tetracycline in the sample, anti-tetracycline antibody binds to the HRP enzyme conjugate. Then pipette the substrate solution to the wells to convert the color.

The color of unknown samples is compared to the color of the standards and the tetracycline concentration of the samples is derived.
