QUALITY CONTROL
The quality of the miRNA Isolation Kit is tested on a lot-to-lot basis according to Geneaid's ISO-certified quality management system. 1/5 volume aliquots are analyzed on a polyacrylamide gel. The majority of RNA visible on the gel are <100 nt in size, with the major bands corresponding to tRNAs. The 5S and 5.8S rRNA species may also be visible. These tRNA and small rRNA bands should be clear and distinct. miRNA (21-22 nt) are typically not visible on the gel image.

Figure 1 .Total RNA from mouse tissue was isolated using a reagent system.10 µg of each RNA was subjected to miRNA isolation using the miRNA Isolation Kit. The purified miRNA was resolved in 50 µl of Release Buffer and a 1/10 volume aliquot (5 µl) was analyzed by electrophoresis on a 2% agarose gel.

Figure 2 .Small RNAs were isolated from 4 human placental samples. Each lane contains 1/10 of the purified miRNA.
